Remind people to accept an answer and vote

I've answered a couple of questions where I've spent significant time researching and writing an answer. The person asking the question has either replied and disappeared, or just ignored the answer, leaving me feel a bit despondent.

I know points aren't everything, but it's annoying not to be thanked, and points provide a form of motivation to answer more questions.

I think people should be reminded when commenting on an answer to vote on it, and when returning to a question they asked without an answer.

Also it adds value to the base of questions, as you can see which questions have valuable answers, and which answers are likely to be useful.

I agree. Points are a great motivation to keep answering questions. An approval rating like on StackOverflow would also be a motivation for question askers to accept answers and vote. +2
